Yoga - it does a body good.

Yes, even on your deathbed - yoga helps...
Seems what woulda been a deathbed, is now a day at the gym.
Here's the back story.
Dad is getting even more restless at night, and without any balance and having the shakes, he's half falling out of bed. So to stop that, Con & Gabriel secured him in using blankets, crossing his body with a blanket tightly to hold him into place.
Keep in mind his left side is the one having trouble. He's been dragging that leg for awhile.
Dad somehow, manages to maneuver his left leg above the restraining blanket. He has not been that flexible EVER that I can remember. As a child I remember helping him put on his shoes. He wore slip on's cause he couldn't reach down and tie his laces!!
He ended up on the floor in basically, a yoga Child Pose,

And now - he's much more flexible! When they helped him into the rolling chair to move him to the toilet this morning, he bent & moved much better. Not sure if it is prescribed by the doctor, but yoga seems to help...
Picture dad in the shower, trying to move stiff legged into the tub (step up, wait, your leg doesn't bend.) In a very small space (have you seen the bathroom in that house?) with a sick invalid, (shaking & stiff legged) and Con & Gabriel??
Brings to mind Gumby somehow...

Big question is where is the urine & swollen ankles coming from? Dad has not been drinking water since Monday the 25th. He still has swollen ankles.

Dr. Mark Kozloff of Ingalls Hospital did not show up on Wednesday as he said he would. As well as not showing up on Monday (due to the 20" of snow.)
3 weeks later, and dad still hasn't had follow up by his oncologist.
Thank God for Dr Itkonen - his primary care - a VERY caring doctor who Nurse Con recommends highly for South Siders...

PHOTOS NEEDED PLEASE!!
Michael has most of the old family photos - Have you started going thru them for Dad's memorial?
Anyone else - especially our south of the border relatives - if you have more recent shots, photos of Dad down in Colombia - would you be able to post them for us to download & print? Personally, I use both Snapfish & Kodak - but could sign up or find them on other photo services if you send me the link.

Hi Julie,
I've been reading this and wishing I could be there with you. I'm hugging you in my mind! A big squeezy hug, as Astrid would say. Even though this is all painful and difficult, I think it's great that you're going through this process with your folks. When my dad died so suddenly, I didn't get to say goodbye. There's no good way to go, though...

Hey Chris -
Thanks! for the hug & good wishes. Yup - no good way. It is easier going thru it with family. I have been able to talk some with Dad - he's getting past that point but as hard as it was, it helped. Hug Astrid & Eliot for me - Joules
